Volunteer opportunities
This semester, SJC is starting a new volunteer program with the Boys & Girls Club of Bethlehem. We will be hosting interactive science activities for the kids every month. If you are interested in this opportunity, please fill out this form and check out the informational documents linked below!
Journal groups
Fill out this form to join a journal group!
Journal groups will consist of smaller groups of individuals with similar research interests. These groups will meet once a month and discuss a scientific paper/article/podcast. This is a great opportunity to discuss current literature in fields that you're interested in, as well as develop valuable communication skills and meet new people. Being able to interpret scientific literature is also an important skill for graduate/professional school!

This is a sample poster presentation for undergraduate research. If students want to present their research to our group, please reach out to Penny Demetriades at [email protected]!

Resources
If you are interested in a specific topic, Google Scholar is a wonderful resource that directs you to peer-reviewed articles. Additionally, there are a number of digital libraries such as JSTOR, Wiley Online Library, or ScienceDirect that are free and contain volumes of research. In most cases, access to full publications can be granted through a Lehigh University account.

Instructions for citations in APA:
How to determine if an article is credible:
- It should contain a list of author(s), an abstract, and a list of citations
- It should contain data or supporting figures (graphs, tables, illustrations)
- It should be published on a non-biased or scientific website, not on a blog, newspaper, or publicly edited site
- Check the publication date; older research is constantly being challenged, updated, and confirmed
