Secretary - Audrey HarringtonI am a sophomore majoring in behavioral neuroscience. This is my first year doing research in Dr. Babcock’s neurodegenerative disease lab where I research traumatic brain injury in a Drosophila melanogaster model organism. Outside of class I enjoy reading, watching TV, and spending time outdoors! Following graduation, I hope to pursue a PhD in neuroscience and continue in research. I wish you all a great semester and can’t wait for us to explore the world of science together! Email: [email protected] |
Treasurer - Cole ShaubI am a junior at Lehigh University majoring in Bioengineering on the pre-med track. On campus, I am also involved with the Biomedical Engineering Society, LeMed, and LUenable. I am interested in neural engineering, and how technology applications can be used towards the brain to improve medicine and overall health. After graduating, I would like to either pursue a MD degree with a focus in neurology, or attend graduate school to pursue a PhD in Bioengineering and have a career doing research. As I continue to learn more about research myself, I look forward to helping club members and students explore their academic interests, discover research opportunities, and find community within SJC!

club advisor- Professor tartagliaDr. Tartaglia is a New Jersey native who attended Rutgers University for his BA in biology as well as MS in molecular biology. He then pursued a PhD at the University of Florida College of Medicine where he studied the biochemical and biophysical interactions of adeno-associated viruses, with a fundamental focus on their application as a gene therapy vector. After completion of his PhD, he pursued his postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School where he studied infectious diseases with an emphasis on vaccine development to combat viral pathogens such as HIV and Zika virus. Over the course of his career he developed a very strong passion for education and mentorship and eagerly chose a path where he could incorporate both of these interests in his career. He joined the biology department at Lehigh University in Spring 2020 and is extremely excited to serve as the faculty advisor for SJC as well as mentor the next generation of young scientists!
